Spa Trail Woodhall Spa to Horncastle

Distance: 7.05 miles

This almost traffic free route is ideal for all ability levels. This route takes you on the Spa Trail which is 3 miles of flat surfaced brideway along the old Horncastle to Woodhall Junction Railway line and Horncastle Canal.

Travelling through the countryside and dappled woodland, the Spa trail also forms part of the Viking way. No wonder it’s so popular with hikers, dogwalkers and families. Make sure to check out the wildlife and many stone, wood and metal sculptures along the way. Can be combined with “Through the villages” route to make a return loop in either direction.

Once in the traditional Market town of Horncastle you could explore the many antique shops there, refuel with a traditional pub lunch and of course visit the market if you happen to be there on a Thursday or Saturday!
